The Day The Constitution Will Feel Worthless

Posted in politics by roving on December 6, 2008

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

These are the words Obama will use on inauguration day.  Adding “So help me God” is optional. I somehow don’t see Obama using them four words. If he does, I’ll be surprised. This oath will be taken by a man who thinks our constitution is deeply flawed. This oath will be taken by a man who is ignoring the constitution.

If the supreme court decides  to not hear the case against Obama over his eligibility to be president and takes the easy way out in fear of upsetting the media and the Obama supporters who try their hardest to make it all seem silly, Jan 20 will be known as the day the constitution died in my mind. Any future case brought before the supreme court and any decisions they make  will feel worthless.

The millions who have shed blood protecting our constitution will be for nothing. This will be the beginning of the end of the United States as we know it. We will turn into another Europe and we can all see how that is turning out.

When supreme court justice John Roberts stands next to Obama during the swearing in  will his stomache feel a wee bit queasy knowing who Obama is and what he stands for?

I wonder about the people in our military, the ones who feel Obama will be a USURP as a commander in chief and are forced to follow his orders anyway. If I were still in the military, going AWOL would be on my mind often.
